Uber cool nerf guns released in 2016 : Must own for any Nerfer

Gun games have always been the most popular playtime activity among kids and Nerf is the go-to toy manufacturer for their nifty and highly functional blasters. Nerf comes out with a wide variety of blasters catering to a vast audience ranging from 8-year-old-kids to young adults. Each year awesome new and cool nerf guns are released under different series to further encourage kids to spend more physical time rather than tablets, TV or console gaming. And this year is no different.

For this article, we have deliberated a list of the most cool nerf guns released in 2016 and are available in the market right now. The blasters that are cited in this article have made the cut primarily based on their design, paint jobs, dominating looks and firing capabilities. At the same time, these blasters are the epitome of good performance too. Go through ’em and take your pick to earn yourself some well-deserved street cred.

This line up of ultra cool nerf guns are priced anywhere from 40 to 100 dollars and are at the top end of nerf collections. Whether to spend upwards of 40 dollars for a “toy” is your discretion. But if we have our say these well engineered nerf blasters demand the asking price. They are surely a league above the rest of the lower end models released through these years, not only in looks but also basic form and functionality. A tremendous amount of effort, market research, and investment have gone into the design and development of these model guns.

Nerf Mega Mastodon

First up is undoubtedly the Nerf Mega Mastodon. It’s the big brother of all Nerf guns. Period.
It’s so unbelievably huge and heavy that Nerf had to provide a strap accessory with metal clamps for the whole package to make any sense. It shoots the bigger and better Red Mega darts. The range is 90 feet, with angled shots, which trumps any Elite or Mega blaster released so far. And muzzle velocities of the darts easily average 80 fps which is downright incredible. And the coolest aspect of this Nerf Mega blaster is that it is fully automatic and boasts an approximate 4 darts per second rate of fire.

The Nerf Mega Mastodon

Nerf Rival Khaos MXVI-4000

Nerf Rival Khaos

The Nerf Rival Khaos is a fully automatic weapon that fires the Rival High-Impact rounds with a high rate of fire. Also, the muzzle velocities easily average 100 feet per second. Nerf Modulus Tri-Strike

The Modulus series rolls out Nerf guns that are meant to be customized, altered and experimented with. It has standard blasters like the ECS 10 and Recon MKII and more importantly additional cool attachments, add-ons and upgrades kits that can be bought separately.

Nerf Modulus Tri-Strike

This year Nerf released the Tri-Strike with can be termed the first truly modular blaster with three separate but well-integrated components. A primary spring powered blaster, a missile launcher powered by the Stock and a Mega Dart launcher as a muzzle extension.  A complete Nerf package that can shoot all three types of Nerf ammo, with the exception of Riva rounds. The beauty of it is, these modular components can be attached to other Modulus or Elite blasters or even used independently!!

Nerf Rival Atlas XVI-1200

Another major release in the Rival series this 2016,Fall, is the Shotgun model Nerf Rival Atlas XVI-1200. ‘1200’ here again denotes the 12 round capacity of the Atlas magazine. ’12 rounds’ may sound like a shortcoming but it is to be expected from a Shotgun mimic. Moreover, this blaster shoots two darts for each trigger pull. Both at insane Rival velocities and accuracy.

Nerf Rival Atlas

The Nerf Rival Atlas is a direct upgrade to the Rival Apollo which was released last year (2015). It has more ammo capacity, two rounds per shot, much smoother priming mechanism and premium looks in comparison. It costs around ten dollars more than the Apollo but we feel it’s every bit worth the retail price. The shots per magazine come down to six, which might be a concern to some. But for all the pump action shotgun lovers out there this is a must buy model for its incredible performance and build quality. Nerf Elite HyperFire

This cool nerf guns list would be incomplete without the HyperFire. The N-Strike Elite from Nerf has been a hugely successful and long-standing series from Nerf. This year the HyperFire has been added to the Elite arsenal and has received rave reviews from Nerfers everywhere.
The HyperFire is a fully automatic blaster directly competing with the RapidStrike  CS-18. Before its release, the RapidStrike was unbeaten in its automatic firing capability and blaster versatility. Now the HyperFire poses a serious competition boasting the highest rate of fire of all Nerf guns ever released. There is not much of customization options and meant to be used as it is out of the box.
