Nerf’s new introduction to the Zombie Strike series, the Doominator blaster, promises to be the most innovative model of its kind. It is like an enhanced and bigger Flipfury, also from the Zombie Series. Unfortunately, with quite a few cons present, this blaster requires double consideration before buying.  The design of this blaster sticks to it’s Zombie roots with bright green and orange colors, and operates using a spring action blaster.

Overview of the Doominator blaster

The Doominator is a popular Nerf blaster that offers a fun and exciting play experience. Its revolver-style design and rotating cylinder drum mechanism allow for quick and easy dart loading and firing. With four six-dart cylinders, players have a total of 24 darts at their disposal, making it a formidable weapon in Nerf battles.

The blaster’s short integrated shoulder stock offers added stability and comfort during gameplay. Its built-in iron sights also make it easier to aim and fire accurately, increasing the chances of hitting your target. Additionally, the blaster’s slam-fire capability allows for rapid firing at the user’s discretion, making it a versatile and effective weapon in any Nerf battle.

Doominator blaster Unboxing

Features

The Doominator blaster comes with special dart drums, four in number, which can hold 6 darts in each. This means a whopping total of 24 darts can be stored and launched by the blaster, which redeems any of its otherwise flaws. A double trigger can allow the user to comfortably switch between these drums, and with the 3-finger position handle design, shooting is never hard to pull off.

The blaster runs on a pump action similar to shotguns, where the forward handle has to be pulled to load the gun. Since there is no automatic system, the pulling and loading process has to be repeated. This does seem tiresome at first, but as it emulates a real shotgun, the experience is enhanced. An additional drop grip can be attached to a number of places in the barrel, which can be used for easier pump-action while shooting.

Pros

  • Designed to look like a ‘zombie’ themed gun, especially the plastic grip part.
  • Has large dart-capacity.
  • Priming Handle can be attached to the bottom or on either side as per convenience. Ambidextrous design.
  • The revolving revolver mechanism allows a second trigger to flip to an alternate revolver. This can be done after every six shots.
  • Can be customized a bit and the initial assembly is quite easy to do.
  • Has slam-fire which enables you to hold the trigger down and fire consecutively by just priming the blaster.

Cons

  • The shots are softer compared to other Elite blasters and the accuracy is shaky as well.
  • The shooting mechanism is a bit flawed. If you prime the blaster then rotate the drums before taking a shot, the blaster might jam. Prime-Shoot-Rotate Barrel is the order to go.
  • The average shooting range is about 40 feet at a go, which is pretty low when compared to other Elite blasters.
  • The stock is not detachable and a bit too short to get a good support when shooting.
  • N-Strike Barrel extensions cannot be added.
  • The rotation mechanism of the barrels are a bit clunky due to four barrel rotation.

Nerf Doominator blaster mod

While the Doominator strives to be a special ‘Zombie Strike’ variation, it falls short due to clunky design and lack of power. But if you’re looking to get a big and cool-looking Zombie Series blaster that avoids using Clip-fed system, with large dart capacity and slam-fire then this is the blaster to go.
